Baby Update

At eight months Anna is developing like crazy. Anna is now creeping forward on her tummy and rolling herself all over the apartment. She leans forward from a sitting position to a crawling position, and soon she will be crawling! Time is going by faster than it did with Dylan, making it seem like she's growing twice fast as Dylan. Soon she will be a toddler.

Anna is doing all sorts of other things that make me think she won't be a baby long. First, she now has her two bottom teeth and her hair is really starting to come in. Second, sometimes she hums while I hum her lullabies at night. Third, when she wants something, she sometimes breaths in and out of her nose real fast making a funny noise. If you do it back she laughs outloud. Fourth, when she wakes up in the middle of the night or real early in the morning, and knows you aren't coming to get her, she rolls herself to the edge of her crib and throws her pacifier overboard. Knowing she won't go back to sleep without it, we find ourselves getting out of bed and searching for it in the dark. Lastly, she is able to support herself in a standing position if she is holding onto something. For instance, she can stand in her crib while holding on to the sides.

She is very easy to smile, and always returns a smile to someone who smiles at her. She loves to watch Dylan, but is a little apprehensive when he trys to play with her. He thinks dropping toys into her pack n play is loads of fun. After a minute of this he practically buries her with toys and anything else lying around. Today I found Daddy's shoes in there, just a couple of inches from her head.

As for Dylan, he contiues to be very sweet and very active. He loves to go outside, so we have at least two outings a day. He has a paint class, a moms and tots group, an open gym, and storytime at the library. He is talking much more and singing entire songs. He knows his alphabet and most letters by name. He is also getting a little bossy. He likes to tell kids to "Stop!" at the playground and tries to get them to follow him. I guess he will soon figure out that this doesn't work. I think he gets "stop!" from me, as he hears it a lot from me these days.

They are both doing well, and they seem to really like each other. Dylan likes to snuggle, kiss and give her toys and Anna likes to watch him play and run around. They don't share with each other very, but I guess that's to be expected. That's all for now. Halloween is coming and soon we'll have lots of pics of them in their costumes. I'm sooooo excited!
